Open Access, Copyright and Licensing Policy

The journal’s open access editorial policy has been developed in accordance with the recommendations and standards of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).

The journal applies the concept of “open access” as defined in the official documents of the Budapest Open Access Initiative.

By “open access” to peer-reviewed scholarly literature, the journal means free public access via the Internet, allowing any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the Internet itself. The only restriction on reproduction and distribution, and the only role for copyright in this domain, is to give authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to be properly acknowledged and cited.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright in their manuscripts and grant the journal the right of first publication. All published articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license (CC BY-NC 4.0), which allows others to share, remix, adapt, and use the material in any medium or format for non-commercial purposes only, provided that proper attribution is given to the author.

The corresponding author is responsible for securing any permissions required for the reuse of copyright-protected materials included in the manuscript.

The journal seeks to promote the development of global open access to scholarly information and research. The publisher provides readers, researchers, and institutions with free online access to all published materials, for example for linking to contents or for downloading, distributing, printing, copying, and reproducing them in any medium, except for altering the content or using it for commercial purposes, in accordance with the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International Public License (CC BY-NC 4.0). The license applies provided that the original work is properly cited. Written permission from the Publisher is required for the commercial use of published materials.

The journal provides immediate open access to all published materials, making research results freely available to the public and supporting the global exchange of knowledge. This means that every Internet user has free and unrestricted access to the full texts of articles published in the journal; manuscripts are available without subscription or financial barriers; and, after publication, all materials are immediately accessible online without delay.

The Publisher permits the author to archive the final version of the article in an institutional or subject repository where it is made openly accessible.
