THE INFLUENCE OF GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATION ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY OF UKRAINE — WORLD AND DOMESTIC EXPERIENCE

Abstract. The article examines the importance of geographical indication for the formation of the image of the hospitality industry. In Ukraine, a certain legal framework for the legal protection of intellectual property has been created, but the development of a market economy requires further improvement of national legislation to solve problems arising during the use of intellectual property objects from both the legal and economic side. The system of geographical indications makes it possible to protect the quality of the product while simultaneously promoting it on the domestic and foreign markets. Also, during the period of post-war recovery, geographical indication will allow to popularize products for tourists. The article analyzes recognized geographical indications in Ukraine and analyzes the global practice of geographical indications for its impact on gastrotourism.
It should be noted that this year became special for Ukrainian winemaking, as the geographical indication “Transcarpathia/Transcarpathian wine” was officially registered. This distinction is not only a confirmation of the high quality of local wines, but also a recognition of the uniqueness of the region, its natural conditions, and centuries-old winemaking traditions. Recognition of the geographical indication opens up new prospects for wine producers in the international market, helping the region consolidate its position as one of the leading winemaking centers of Ukraine.
The article analyzes recognized geographical indications in Ukraine and analyzes the global practice of geographical indications for its impact on gastrotourism.
