INTERNATIONAL TRAINING WORKSHOP ON THE OPEN SCIENCE AND RESEARCH ASSESSMENT INSTITUTIONAL TOOLKIT
Abstract. The article presents the results of the analysis and generalization of the materials of the International training workshop on the Open Science and Research Assessment institutional toolkit, which attracted significant interest among representatives of the academic community. It is emphasized that the relevance of the topic is determined not only by the need to modernize the system of research assessment but also by the necessity of high-quality training of a new generation of specialists and young scientists in the context of the digital transformation of society. During the seminar, trainers from different countries, including Slovenia, the Netherlands, Poland, and Ukraine, shared their experience in integrating open science tools into higher education, doctoral training, and professional research activities. Special attention was given to European initiatives (CoARA, OPUS), which define new benchmarks in the field of research evaluation and contribute to the implementation of the principles of transparency, openness, and integrity. The seminar participants acquired practical skills in developing institutional policies for research data management, designing Data Management Plans (DMPs), and applying modern tools to support researchers. The special role of libraries, which are increasingly acting as educational and service centers in the field of research data management and open science, was highlighted. Significant attention was devoted to the challenges posed by the use of artificial intelligence in research, particularly in terms of academic integrity, ethics, reliability of results, and preparing students and early-career researchers to work in a digital society. An important element of the seminar was group work on modeling scenarios for the development of open science until 2035, which made it possible to outline specific areas of activity and strategic steps for their implementation. The seminar served as a platform for interdisciplinary and international cooperation, exchange of experience, and the search for effective approaches to modernizing the research sector. It outlined promising directions for further interaction between institutions and contributed to the formation of a vision for the development of a research culture focused on openness, innovation, and quality.
