{"id":575,"date":"2018-12-17T14:43:41","date_gmt":"2018-12-17T12:43:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nti.ukrintei.ua\/?page_id=575"},"modified":"2026-04-15T16:54:57","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T13:54:57","slug":"procedure-for-reviewing","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/nti.ukrintei.ua\/?page_id=575&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Peer Review Procedure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"27\" data-end=\"141\">In the journal <strong><em data-start=\"42\" data-end=\"78\">Science, Technologies, Innovations<\/em><\/strong>, all scholarly articles undergo an open peer review procedure.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"143\" data-end=\"500\">In this journal, open peer review means that, during the evaluation of a manuscript, the author and the reviewer know each other\u2019s names. The editorial office ensures a professional, impartial, and ethical review of submitted materials and adheres to the principles of academic integrity, editorial independence, and the prevention of conflicts of interest.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"502\" data-end=\"533\"><strong data-start=\"502\" data-end=\"533\">1. Initial editorial review<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"535\" data-end=\"641\">After submission to the editorial office, a manuscript is registered with the date of submission recorded.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"643\" data-end=\"700\">At the initial review stage, the editorial office checks:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"1048\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1koz7b9\" data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"780\">whether the article corresponds to the journal\u2019s academic profile and scope;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"69if46\" data-start=\"781\" data-end=\"838\">whether the formatting requirements have been followed;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"zobk06\" data-start=\"839\" data-end=\"884\">whether all required metadata are provided;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"rip4be\" data-start=\"885\" data-end=\"949\">whether the structure of the scholarly article is appropriate;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"933nx5\" data-start=\"950\" data-end=\"1048\">whether the policies on academic integrity, publication ethics, and AI usage have been observed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1050\" data-end=\"1191\">Materials that do not correspond to the journal\u2019s profile or formal requirements may be returned to the author without being sent for review.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1193\" data-end=\"1224\"><strong data-start=\"1193\" data-end=\"1224\">2. Appointment of reviewers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1226\" data-end=\"1403\">At least two independent reviewers are involved in the review process. Reviewers must be specialists in the relevant academic field and have appropriate academic qualifications.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1405\" data-end=\"1637\">A reviewer may not participate in the consideration of a manuscript if there is a conflict of interest, including an official, academic, personal, financial, or institutional conflict that could affect the objectivity of the review.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1639\" data-end=\"1844\">If a conflict of interest exists, or if the reviewer lacks sufficient competence in the subject of the research, the reviewer must immediately inform the editorial office and decline the review assignment.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1846\" data-end=\"1874\"><strong data-start=\"1846\" data-end=\"1874\">3. Conduct of the review<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1876\" data-end=\"1950\">The reviewer evaluates the manuscript according to the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1952\" data-end=\"2382\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1k5ihoj\" data-start=\"1952\" data-end=\"1977\">relevance of the topic;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"vrdweb\" data-start=\"1978\" data-end=\"1999\">scientific novelty;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"yi4x7u\" data-start=\"2000\" data-end=\"2083\">consistency of the title, abstract, and keywords with the content of the article;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"lbocoe\" data-start=\"2084\" data-end=\"2156\">clarity of the problem statement, aim, and objectives of the research;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1pj039e\" data-start=\"2157\" data-end=\"2194\">appropriateness of the methodology;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1vas5dc\" data-start=\"2195\" data-end=\"2237\">validity of the results and conclusions;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"13tky22\" data-start=\"2238\" data-end=\"2270\">quality of the use of sources;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"18o582m\" data-start=\"2271\" data-end=\"2304\">academic style of presentation;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1yyselv\" data-start=\"2305\" data-end=\"2382\">compliance with ethical standards and the principles of academic integrity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2384\" data-end=\"2554\">As a rule, the review should be completed within 21 calendar days from the date the reviewer receives the manuscript, unless otherwise determined by the editorial office.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2556\" data-end=\"2603\"><strong data-start=\"2556\" data-end=\"2603\">4. Possible decisions following peer review<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2605\" data-end=\"2685\">Following the review, the reviewer may recommend one of the following decisions:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2687\" data-end=\"2857\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1rq99pl\" data-start=\"2687\" data-end=\"2724\">accept the article for publication;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1qay3p9\" data-start=\"2725\" data-end=\"2768\">accept the article after minor revisions;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1srgn3l\" data-start=\"2769\" data-end=\"2835\">return the article for major revision followed by repeat review;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"w2eqms\" data-start=\"2836\" data-end=\"2857\">reject the article.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2859\" data-end=\"2976\">Each review must contain a reasoned conclusion and, where necessary, specific recommendations for improving the text.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2978\" data-end=\"3023\"><strong data-start=\"2978\" data-end=\"3023\">5. Author\u2019s response to reviewer comments<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3025\" data-end=\"3116\">Where revision is required, the editorial office sends the reviewer comments to the author.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3118\" data-end=\"3161\">The author submits to the editorial office:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3163\" data-end=\"3347\">\n<li data-section-id=\"2vyy72\" data-start=\"3163\" data-end=\"3200\">the revised version of the article;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1qey8ic\" data-start=\"3201\" data-end=\"3347\">a response to the reviewer comments explaining the changes made or providing a reasoned justification for disagreement with particular comments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3349\" data-end=\"3463\">In the case of substantial revision, the manuscript may be sent again to the same reviewer or to another reviewer.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3465\" data-end=\"3486\"><strong data-start=\"3465\" data-end=\"3486\">6. Final decision<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3488\" data-end=\"3694\">The final decision on the publication of an article is made by the Editor-in-Chief, taking into account the reviewers\u2019 conclusions and, where necessary, after discussion at a meeting of the editorial board.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3696\" data-end=\"3757\">The editorial office has the right to reject a manuscript if:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3759\" data-end=\"4043\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1by2eaw\" data-start=\"3759\" data-end=\"3815\">the author has not addressed substantial deficiencies;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1srhz1h\" data-start=\"3816\" data-end=\"3869\">a breach of academic integrity has been identified;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1kuo1vy\" data-start=\"3870\" data-end=\"3938\">the article does not correspond to the journal\u2019s academic profile;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"r3sguj\" data-start=\"3939\" data-end=\"4043\">the material does not meet the standards of scholarly quality and the editorial policy of the journal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"4045\" data-end=\"4104\"><strong data-start=\"4045\" data-end=\"4104\">7. Principles of ethical interaction during peer review<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4106\" data-end=\"4124\">The reviewer must:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"4126\" data-end=\"4426\">\n<li data-section-id=\"gm5msh\" data-start=\"4126\" data-end=\"4186\">provide an objective, reasoned, and respectful assessment;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1ljfd4f\" data-start=\"4187\" data-end=\"4268\">not use the manuscript materials for personal benefit before their publication;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"nb7gx1\" data-start=\"4269\" data-end=\"4311\">observe professional ethics in comments;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"jc9v10\" data-start=\"4312\" data-end=\"4426\">inform the editorial office of any signs of plagiarism, fabrication, falsification of data, or other violations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"4428\" data-end=\"4444\">The author must:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"4446\" data-end=\"4672\">\n<li data-section-id=\"sez0na\" data-start=\"4446\" data-end=\"4491\">respond appropriately to reviewer comments;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"swmzi4\" data-start=\"4492\" data-end=\"4595\">not engage in communication with the reviewer outside the editorial process regarding the manuscript;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1wpyynd\" data-start=\"4596\" data-end=\"4672\">comply with the requirements of academic integrity and publication ethics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"4674\" data-end=\"4862\">The editorial office ensures an impartial consideration of manuscripts, compliance with ethical standards, and the prevention of any form of discrimination or abuse of editorial authority.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4864\" data-end=\"4908\"><strong data-start=\"4864\" data-end=\"4908\">8. Transparency of the editorial process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4910\" data-end=\"5063\">Information about the review model, editorial policy, and ethical principles of the journal is publicly available on the official website of the journal.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5065\" data-end=\"5158\">For each article accepted for publication, the journal website and the article file indicate:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"5160\" data-end=\"5302\">\n<li data-section-id=\"11hjznd\" data-start=\"5160\" data-end=\"5204\">the date of initial manuscript submission;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1sn5o64\" data-start=\"5205\" data-end=\"5275\">the date the article was accepted for publication after peer review;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1hs5ywu\" data-start=\"5276\" data-end=\"5302\">the date of publication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"5304\" data-end=\"5342\"><strong data-start=\"5304\" data-end=\"5342\">9. Language and form of the review<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5344\" data-end=\"5525\">The review must be submitted in writing using the form approved by the editorial office or in a format containing all the necessary elements for expert evaluation of the manuscript.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5527\" data-end=\"5608\">The working languages of peer review are Ukrainian and, where necessary, English.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5610\" data-end=\"5634\"><strong data-start=\"5610\" data-end=\"5634\">10. Final provisions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5636\" data-end=\"5735\">Submission of a manuscript to the journal means the author\u2019s consent to this peer review procedure.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5737\" data-end=\"5925\">All issues not regulated by this procedure are resolved by the editorial office in accordance with the journal\u2019s editorial policy, academic integrity policy, and publication ethics policy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the journal Science, Technologies, Innovations, all scholarly articles undergo an open peer review procedure.
