In its editorial practice, the journal follows the recommendations of the <strong data-start=\"300\" data-end=\"342\">Committee on Publication Ethics (<a href=\"https:\/\/publicationethics.org\">COPE<\/a>)<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"351\" data-end=\"398\">World Association of Medical Editors (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wame.org\/recommendations-on-publication-ethics-policies-for-medical-journals\">WAME<\/a>)<\/strong>, and also endorses the principles of the <strong data-start=\"440\" data-end=\"499\">San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (<a href=\"https:\/\/sfdora.org\/read\/\">DORA<\/a>)<\/strong> with regard to the responsible evaluation of research results.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"564\" data-end=\"950\">The journal\u2019s publication ethics policy applies to all participants in the editorial process \u2013 authors, reviewers, members of the editorial board, and editors \u2013 and is aimed at ensuring the quality of scholarly publications, respect for copyright, and the prevention of plagiarism, falsification, fabrication of data, authorship manipulation, and any other forms of research misconduct.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"952\" data-end=\"1000\"><strong data-start=\"952\" data-end=\"1000\">International Principles and Recommendations<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1002\" data-end=\"1169\">In its editorial policy, the journal takes into account international approaches to publication ethics and good editorial practice. In particular, the Editorial Board:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1171\" data-end=\"1856\">\n<li data-section-id=\"pgpda3\" data-start=\"1171\" data-end=\"1347\">follows COPE recommendations on the prevention of publication ethics violations, the handling of complaints, corrections, retractions, and responses to conflicts of interest;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1w90ptp\" data-start=\"1348\" data-end=\"1564\">takes into account WAME recommendations regarding the transparency of editorial procedures, editorial independence, the journal\u2019s ethical policy, and the responsibility of all participants in the editorial process;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"13w65du\" data-start=\"1565\" data-end=\"1856\">endorses the principles of DORA, according to which research results should be assessed primarily on the basis of their content, scientific quality, significance, and contribution to the advancement of science, rather than solely on the basis of journal indicators or other formal metrics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1858\" data-end=\"2023\">The journal applies these approaches with due regard to its scope, editorial policy, peer review procedures, and internal rules for handling manuscripts and appeals.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"22\"><strong data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"22\">General Principles<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"24\" data-end=\"207\">The journal considers only original scholarly materials that fall within its scope, have not been published previously, and are not simultaneously under review by another publication.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"209\" data-end=\"500\">All participants in the editorial process are expected to act in good faith, impartially, confidentially, and professionally. The Editorial Board does not permit discrimination on the grounds of gender, age, place of work, academic status, citizenship, political views, or religious beliefs.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"502\" data-end=\"834\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">If signs of a violation of academic integrity are identified, the Editorial Board has the right to initiate an additional review of the material, request explanations from the parties concerned, suspend consideration of the manuscript, reject the submission, or take other measures in accordance with the journal\u2019s editorial policy.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Responsibilities of the authors<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&#8211; ensure that the research results presented in the manuscript are independent and original work<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; submit a manuscript to the journal, which is not under consideration in another edition and has not been published. Non-observance of this principle is regarded as a gross violation of the ethics of publications and gives grounds for removing the article from review.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; when using fragments of other people&#8217;s works and\/or borrowings of the statements of other authors, the article should contain relevant bibliographic references with the obligatory indication of the author and the original source<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; excessive borrowing, as well as plagiarism in any form, including decorated quotes, paraphrasing, or the assignment of rights to the results of other people&#8217;s research are unethical and unacceptable actions<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; guarantee the correct composition of the co-authors of the work. Authorship should be limited to those individuals who have made significant contributions to the concept, execution or interpretation of the study.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; if the author finds inaccuracies or errors in his work at the stage of its consideration in the editorial office or reviewing, he is obliged to inform the editorial board about this to eliminate the deficiencies.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Responsibilities of the reviewers<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&#8211; the reviewer cannot be the author or co-author of the work under review, as well as the staff of the department in which the author works<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; expert assessment should help the author to improve the quality of the text of the article, and the chief editor to decide on the publication<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; the reviewer may refuse to consider the study if he believes that his qualification is insufficient for analyzing this work<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; the review should be objective and not contain the subjective opinions of the author about the work. The reviewer must express his thoughts clearly and support them with arguments.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; any manuscript received for review is a confidential document and cannot be transferred or negotiated with any other persons without the permission of the chief editor<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The reviewer should pay the editor-in-chief attention to the facts of coincidence with any work published earlier, if there is no reference to the author of the article, which should help in identifying plagiarism<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; the reviewer should not use the information from the work submitted to him to meet personal interests, for example, for use in their own research.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Responsibilities of the Editorial Board<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&#8211; when making a decision on publication, the chief editor is guided by the accuracy of the data presented and the scientific significance of the work<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; the chief editor of the journal decides which articles will be published and which will be rejected, therefore he should not be interested in publishing the reviewed materials.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; the chief editor should not allow information to be published if there are enough reasons to believe that this is plagiarism<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; the chief editor of the journal can consult with the members of the editorial board and reviewers for a final decision on the publication<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; the chief editor and editorial staff should not disclose information from the article submitted to the journal to anyone except the author(s) and potential reviewers<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; the chief editor and publisher should not leave unanswered the claims of authors reviewing manuscripts or published materials. In the event of a conflict, they must take the necessary measures to restore the violated rights, and when errors are found, they must facilitate the publication of corrections or refutations.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Approved at the meeting of the Academic Council of the Ukrainian Institute of Scientific and Technical Expertise and Information dated November 21, 2018 (Protocol No. 10).<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p>The editorial office of the journal&nbsp;<em>Science, Technologies, Innovations<\/em>&nbsp;adheres to the principles of academic integrity and internationally recognized standards of publication ethics. In its editorial practice, the journal follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (<a href=\"https:\/\/publicationethics.org\">COPE<\/a>) and the principles of good editorial practice applied in contemporary scholarly publishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The journal\u2019s publication ethics policy applies to all participants in the editorial process &#8211; authors, reviewers, members of the editorial board, and the editorial office &#8211; and is aimed at ensuring the quality of scholarly publications, protecting copyright, and preventing plagiarism, falsification, fabrication of data, manipulation of authorship, and any other forms of unethical academic conduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>General Principles<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The journal accepts for consideration only original scholarly materials that correspond to its profile, have not been published previously, and are not under consideration by another publication at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All participants in the editorial process must act in good faith, impartially, confidentially, and professionally. The editorial office does not tolerate discrimination on the grounds of gender, age, place of work, academic status, citizenship, political beliefs, or religious convictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If there are indications of a breach of academic integrity, the editorial office has the right to initiate an additional review of the material, request explanations from the parties involved, suspend consideration of the manuscript, reject the material, or take other measures in accordance with the journal\u2019s editorial policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Responsibilities of Authors<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Authors are responsible for the content of the submitted material and for the accuracy of the facts, data, results, and conclusions presented in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authors are required to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>submit only original manuscripts to the journal;<\/li><li>properly cite all sources used;<\/li><li>avoid plagiarism, self-plagiarism, fabrication, falsification of data, and manipulation of research results;<\/li><li>ensure the correct composition of co-authors and not include in the list of authors any persons who did not make a substantial contribution to the research;<\/li><li>inform the editorial office of any errors or inaccuracies identified in the manuscript or in an already published article;<\/li><li>provide clarifications, corrections, or additional materials at the request of the editorial office when necessary.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Submission of a manuscript to the journal means that the authors agree with the journal\u2019s editorial policy, peer review procedure, and publication ethics requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Responsibilities of Reviewers<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A reviewer conducts the scholarly evaluation of a manuscript objectively, reasonably, and in good faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A reviewer is required to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>evaluate the manuscript solely on the basis of its scholarly content;<\/li><li>maintain confidentiality regarding materials received for review;<\/li><li>inform the editorial office of any possible conflict of interest;<\/li><li>decline to review a manuscript if its subject falls outside their area of expertise;<\/li><li>draw the attention of the editorial office to any substantial similarity between the manuscript and already published works, as well as to possible indications of plagiarism or other breaches of integrity;<\/li><li>not use information from the manuscript in their own research prior to its publication.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A review must be professional, respectful, well-reasoned, and aimed at improving the quality of the scholarly text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Responsibilities of the Editorial Office and the Editorial Board<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The editorial office and members of the editorial board ensure the fair, impartial, and confidential consideration of all submitted materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The editorial office undertakes to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>evaluate manuscripts according to their scholarly quality, relevance, methodological soundness, and compliance with the journal\u2019s profile;<\/li><li>prevent the publication of materials showing signs of plagiarism or other violations of academic integrity;<\/li><li>not disclose information about submitted manuscripts to third parties, except in cases related to editorial handling and peer review;<\/li><li>respond to substantiated appeals, comments, and complaints concerning submitted or published materials;<\/li><li>where necessary, ensure the publication of corrections, clarifications, retractions, or withdrawals in accordance with established procedures.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The editorial office does not permit the use of official position or access to unpublished materials for personal benefit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Conflict of Interest<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>All participants in the editorial process must disclose any real or potential conflict of interest that may affect the objectivity of evaluation, editorial decision-making, or the content of the publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If a conflict of interest is identified, the editorial office may replace the reviewer, request additional explanations, or take any other decision necessary to ensure the impartiality of the editorial process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Response to Ethical Violations<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If there are indications of a violation of publication ethics, the editorial office acts in accordance with the journal\u2019s internal procedures and the applicable standards of academic integrity.
